That is a design limitation since our angle is fixed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Rotary Joint Subsystem<\/h2>\n<h3>Strengths and Weaknesses<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Strengths:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The main strengths of the rotary joint subsystem are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>High Repeatability &#8211; 3 times the stated requirement.<\/li>\n<li>Small form factor &#8211; Light weight<\/li>\n<li>Simplicity &#8211; Having a concentric hollow shaft stepper motor enables a simple implementation, when compared to rotary stage, or standard stepper with gears.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Weaknesses:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>No feedback: which is a weakness common to all 3D printers<\/li>\n<li>Low stepper motor holding torque: Which causes the stepper to skip steps when encountering too much resistance<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nozzle Subsystem Strengths and Weaknesses The strengths of the nozzle subsystem include: Consistent filament extrusion along preferred directions Good temperature regulation (with insulation) Modularity (Identical mounting interface as the original nozzle) The weaknesses include: Limited to convex parts that have 90\u00b0 or less with respect to the bed.
