For this test, all three landmines were detected as such, and all three pieces of shrapnel were determined to be false positives.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-327\" src=\"http:\/\/mrsdprojects.ri.cmu.edu\/2017teamb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2017\/09\/targets.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1256\" height=\"711\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/mOwXYUO.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The results for ten consecutive trials show the detection points (in pink), the actual positions of the landmines (in green), predicted location and size of that landmine based on the detection for that test (in blue), and the average for all ten tests (in black).<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-326\" src=\"http:\/\/mrsdprojects.ri.cmu.edu\/2017teamb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2017\/09\/Probes.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"846\" height=\"667\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Metal Detecting Results<\/h4>\n<p>Five landmines were placed in known locations along a one meter strip.\u00a0 10 passes were made with the metal detector. Error data for all ten passes are shown below. The red Xs show the actual locations of landmines, the blue circle shows a 10cm error around the landmine center, and the black circle shows our actual error from the 10 passes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-325\" src=\"http:\/\/mrsdprojects.ri.cmu.edu\/2017teamb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2017\/09\/md.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1063\" height=\"678\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The total location error for each detection is plotted below. 44 of our 50 detections are within a 10cm error margin.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-324\" src=\"http:\/\/mrsdprojects.ri.cmu.edu\/2017teamb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2017\/09\/error-buckets.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"967\" height=\"558\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Localization Results<\/h4>\n<p>We fused the data from a GPS, two IMUs, and a wheel encoder to test our ability to locate our system. We performed 6 tests to evaluate our results.<\/p>\n<p>Here, our localization results are based on estimating the ground truth at seven points using GPS.\u00a0 Clearly, our GPS alone is not accurate enough to achieve our 50cm error requirement.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-332\" src=\"http:\/\/mrsdprojects.ri.cmu.edu\/2017teamb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2017\/09\/collected.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1059\" height=\"544\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here, we used one of our tests as the ground truth instead.
