Di Hu

In Robotics, Di is interested in Agriculture Robots and Human-Robot Interaction studies. Her undergrad study in food system, philosophy and computer science inspired her to build robots for farmers to establish a healthier and more sustainable global food system. Things she wants to explore outside of robotics are Philosophy of Mind, Design Principles, BJJ, and good restaurants.

Di is currently the project manager and will be doing control and software engineering for the project.

Simi Asher

Simi has a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Kyushu University, Japan and research and industry experience developing hardware and software for robotics applications ranging from exoskeletons to warehouse robots. She will be the perception subsystems lead and co-project manager for this project. Her other interests include field robotics, especially agriculture robots, and sustainability.

Suraj Bhosale

Suraj has experience in space technology as a mechanical engineer. Suraj is interested in exploring computer vision and machine learning, currently working on developing spraying capabilities on the robot mobile base and contributing to the localization and navigation tasks. He is fascinated by the role of technology in bettering human lives and currently trying to find his feet through robotics. Suraj is a huge cricket buff who likes to read, learn new things in his free time.

Shrijit Singh

Shrijit is a full-stack roboticist focusing on localization, navigation, SLAM, and robot perception. He enjoys building end-to-end systems that can be deployed and impact the real world.

In the past, he has worked on a wide range of projects such as autonomous vehicles, warehouse robots, unmanned ground vehicles, and drones.

He is an open-source enthusiast and strives to write high-quality, scalable, and performant software. He can mainly be found outdoors testing or working till late on campus, if not he probably is sleeping.

Vrushali Patil

Vrushali pursued her Bachelors in Electronics and Communication Engineering from BITS Pilani, Dubai and completed her undergraduate thesis from the University of Michigan. She has worked on a spectrum of automation projects for applications ranging from oil spill containment using drones to using manipulators for autonomous welding. However, agricultural-robotics interests her the most and she hopes to lead the Agricultural 4.0 revolution in India and contribute towards a safer, sustainable, and advanced future of farming.

Vrushali will be the hardware and subsystems lead for this project and would also co-lead on navigation and controls. When she is not working, she is found practicing Kathak or improving an old recipe!
