Meet the Team

Charvi Gupta

Charvi is currently pursuing Master of Science in Robotic Systems Development from Carnegie Mellon University. She completed her undergraduate degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Pune Institute of Computer Technology. Her expertise lies at the intersection of software development and robotics. She hopes to broaden her experience in planning and navigation through this project.

Charvi has experience working as a Software Engineer for 3 years and is described by her colleagues as a person with a can-do attitude who is always helpful and cheerful.

Outside of robotics, Charvi loves dancing to Bollywood tunes, practicing Kathak, and talking about (as well as eating!) food. Feel free to reach out via LinkedIn!

Indraneel Patil

Indraneel loves working on truly autonomous systems and is excited about the impact it is going to have on all our lives. Intelligent robots of tomorrow require little or no supervision and are more generalised than humans are. They can adapt to new unseen environments and help us achieve things which are science fiction today.

An important step towards that reality is the ability for autonomous robots to work together in teams and tackle difficult scenarios which no single robot can. This is the step that RoboSAR hopes to achieve and Indraneel brings to the team an experience in planning, controls and navigation to help contribute to this vision.

When not making robots move, Indraneel is usually found engaging in fun intellectual debates, playing tennis or going on weekend hikes in the countryside!

Jaekyung Song

Bio:

After obtaining a BS in Electrical Engineering from Brown University, Jae is pursuing a degree in MS in Robotic Systems Development at Carnegie Mellon University. He is interested in localization, perception and mapping, and how these areas are used in field robotics. RoboSAR will be an excellent opportunity to get hands on experience in these areas.

Narendar Sriram

Bio: When humans can become the most evolved species in the world by building civilisations, why not Robots? Building a swarm of robots that help victims in a disaster seems like a first step.

Naren has experience in Software Development and Warehouse Robotics and looks to learn and contribute in Swarm Control Algorithms with RoboSAR.

When not swamped with assignments, Naren can be found in a studio grooving to Bollywood or roaming around the water laden areas in Pittsburgh, the Zoo, travelling or making/eating/thinking about food.

Rachel Zheng

Rachel is a robotics student interested in planning, localization and estimation, and controls. She graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. She has experience working on autonomous vehicles, warehouse robotics, and fixed-wing aircraft. Through this project, she aims to better understand multi-agent systems and create a product that can augment human capabilities.

In her free time, she enjoys sleeping, watching tiktoks, and chinese calligraphy.
