Unified Multi-point Temperature Monitoring and Logger
As we have a lot of components tightly integrated into a compact form-factor airframe, and added to this the fact that our UAS platform would be operating close to and near fires, we need such a system to actively monitor the temperatures of the core functional components, alleviating catastrophic loss of the system, by enabling the system/user take pre-emptive actions to avert disaster.
Description and Requirements of the PCB:
- The PCB is envisioned to be small and lightweight, as it is going to be integrated into our UAS platform.
- Have up to 6 analogue input ports for 6 thermal probes to measure temperatures of up to 6 critical spots on the drone
- Have a suitable MCU on board in the form of a break-out package [easy to replace]
- Have an on-board power regulator in the form of a break-out package [easy to replace]
- MCU shall also support serial communications to log/transmit the data to the on-board computer
- This data shall be consumed by our supervisory safety manager SW module, which shall take failsafe actions/warn the operator of any system escalations
- Connectors: All the connectors shall be uni-directional to avoid accidental mishaps. We plan to use different variants of the popular JST-JH connectors for this purpose
- Operate at 5V DC, Estimated current requirements: <1A. We will have a better idea once we finalize the PCB components.
