Summer–09/10

09/11–09/24

  • Prepare for the DARPA competition (All)

09/25–10/08

  • Participate in the DARPA competition (Gweneth, Josh, Lance, Jet)
  • Retrofit the drone for VIO (Josh, Lance, Gweneth)
  • Propose swarm algorithm (Jet)
  • Perform unit testing on the LiDAR system running the Super Odometry algorithm (Yi)

10/09–10/29

  • Integrate firmware between MAVROS and the VIO system (Josh, Lance, Gweneth)
  • Calibrate the VIO system with the initial ground frame and GPS point (Josh, Lance, Gweneth)
  • Validate VIO detection of distinct markers for ground-based localization (Josh, Lance, Gweneth)
  • Deploy initial swarm algorithm in the simulation above (Jet)
  • Develop tree detection algorithm using LiDAR data (Yi)

10/30–11/12

  • Finalize VIO system (Josh, Lance, Gweneth)
  • Deploy swarm algorithm on drones (Jet)
  • Integrate LiDAR-detected obstacles into the full-course mapping process (Yi)
