Alex is studying at CMU’s Robotics Institute pursuing a Master of Science in Robotics System Development (MRSD) and received his B.S. in Mechanical engineering from National Taiwan University. He is proficient in control theories and applications, hardware design, and motion analysis. His interest in robotics is in medical devices and includes prosthetics, exoskeletons and surgical robotics. In this project, he is responsible for building the moving platform and performing motion capture analysis.
Anjali is pursuing her Master of Science in Robotic Systems Development (MRSD) at the Robotics Institute at CMU and has a B.S. in Computer Science from UCLA. She has background in search and planning and is in charge of the Searching and Palpating Subsystem of the Chopsticks Surgical System. She is also the team project manager. Her interests lie in social robotics and in applications like agriculture, medicine, and education.
Arti leads the motion planning & controls efforts on the Chopsticks Surgical System. She also heads the Sensors Subsystem and performed tasks such as camera-robot registration on the system. She seeks to leverage her technical skills to enhance the healthcare experience through medical and surgical robotic solutions.
Cora has B.S. in Industrial Design. She has worked as a human-robot interaction engineer for human-environment service robots. She heads the data processing and 3D modeling subsystem of the chopstick surgical team.
Chang receives her B.S. in Computer Science from Renmin University of China. Before joining CMU, she has background in computer vision, especially medical image analysis. She is also proficient in motion planning and learning based control. Her research interests lie in medical robotics and include image-guided planning, robust learning-based control, etc. She is responsible for algorithms related to image and point cloud processing, as well as stiffness-based palpation planning.
