This project addresses the problem of creosote cleaning in an industrial operation. Koppers, a leading wooden tie manufacturing company faces the issue of creosote removal from the drip pans in their factory, without involving extensive human input. Our team has taken up the challenge of incorporating robotics to solve the issue, as an MRSD capstone project. Multiple facets of the problem revolve around dealing with the chemical, creosote, and making the solution robust enough for operating procedures.
