The Team

Cherry Bhatt

Cherry is an Electronics Engineer from Mumbai, now a CMU MRSD grad, channeling a deep love for robotics into meaningful change. Committed to leveraging robots for a better world, one plant at a time.

Kasina Euchukanonchai

Kasina is a first-year student in the MRSD program at CMU. Prior to coming to CMU, Kasina worked as a data scientist at Facebook.

In Arbor Robotics, Kasina works closely with the other mechanical engineers in the team to design, prototype, and test the planting subsystem.

Madhusha Goonesekera

Madhusha is a student in the MRSD program at CMU. He graduated with a B.S degree in Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science, with a Minor in Technology Management from University of California – Davis. Prior to joining CMU, Madhusha worked as a Field Service Engineer at Lasertec Inc., USA working on novel EUV inspection machines.

In Arbor Robotics, Madhusha works on the development of the robot’s planting mechanism. He is also involved with working on the software simulator and plans to get involved with advanced controls for the robot.

Will Heitman

Will is a student in the MRSD program at CMU. He graduated with a B.S degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Texas – Dallas. At UT Dallas, Will led the Nova Autonomous Driving team, working on an autonomous vehicle that successfully drove on public roads autonomously.

In Arbor Robotics, Will plays a vital role in the development of our robot’s Navigation stack, utilizing his experience in autonomous navigation. Additionally, Will has been developing the interface for the robot which ties closely with some parameters for the navigation and planning.

Austin Windham

Austin is in his first year as a student in the MRSD program at CMU. He graduated with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University. Prior to joining CMU, Austin worked as a controls engineer at NASA Goddard, contributing to NASA’s OSAM-1 mission.

In Arbor Robotics, Austin plays a vital role in the development of our robot’s planting subsystem, drawing upon his expertise in mechanical engineering. Additionally, he is actively involved in creating the robot’s software navigation system, showcasing his interdisciplinary skills.
