The system will:
- Fly up to an altitude of 20 meters.
- Fly at a velocity up to 5 m/s.
- Have a 2 minute flight time (run time).
- Drift no more than 2 m from planned trajectory during flight.
- Support a payload up to 5 kg.
- Detect objects up to 10 meters away with 5% error.
- Detect objects with 70% success rate.
- Track detected objects with 70% success rate.
- Give avoidance guidance to pilot at a 1Hz frequency.
- Avoid 100% of potential collisions.
- Not perform unnecessary avoidance maneuvers.
Non-Functional Requirements
The system will:
- Be completed by December 2020.
- Cost less than $5,000.
- Have a custom PCB.
- Be scalable in size.
- Avoid using Machine Learning in path planning and controls.
Desired Performance Requirements
The system will:
- Detect objects from at least 30 meters away.
- Detect objects with 90% success rate.
- Classify objects with above 80% accuracy.
- Locate nearby object position within 0.1 m accuracy.
